My Journey
I began my accounting career straight after leaving school as an apprentice and have since built experience across a range of practices and industries, working with many different clients along the way.
After 15 years in employment, I realised I wanted to use what I’d learned to help people feel more confident about their finances – not just by handling the numbers, but by helping them understand their money and make informed decisions.
I’m always looking for a challenge and believe real growth comes from stepping outside your comfort zone. That mindset shapes how I work with clients, encouraging progress, confidence, and positive change rather than sticking with “how it’s always been done”.
For me, accounting is about more than numbers – it’s about clarity, empowerment, and making a genuine difference.
A few of my favourite things
Life is busy and rarely quiet. When I’m not working or with family, I enjoy exploring Cornwall’s landscapes with our dog, Max.
I like setting personal challenges, from joining a dance team and competing to exploring my creative side through art. Staying active matters to me too – I average over 11,000 steps a day – and I’m a big food lover, whether that’s cooking at home or discovering great places to eat across Cornwall.
Outside of Work
Community involvement is important to me, and I believe in contributing in ways that genuinely matter. I volunteer at the local youth club and am actively involved with our village school, where I serve as treasurer and support fundraising activities. I’m also a serving trustee of our local school academy.
Being involved with the school is particularly important to me as it allows me to stay connected to my children’s academic journey, while also contributing to something wider. I believe in helping shape the next generation and supporting environments where young people can grow, learn, and develop confidence.
These roles also give me the opportunity to build skills and perspectives that I wouldn’t gain through my profession alone. They challenge me, stretch me outside my comfort zone, and allow me to use my experience in a way that has a real, lasting impact.
